Help Needed for Christmas Lunches:

Volunteers based out of Talbot Community Centre in Kenfig Hill will once again be cooking and providing Christmas dinner for local and vulnerable residents who would otherwise miss out on Christmas

Day.

This will be the second time this initiative has taken place, after last year’s efforts helped to provide families and individuals in the Pyle, Cornelly, Kenfig Hill and Cefn Cribwr areas with a traditional Christmas dinner with all the frills.

For 2023, the service will be expanded to cover the entire county borough, and will be seeking to support as many people as possible via a small army of fellow volunteers and community representatives.

Preparation of the lunches will take place on Saturday, December 23 and delivery of the lunches to peoples homes will be made on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24.

The meals will be ready to eat and will just need warming up on Christmas Day and are collected or delivered to housebound people or people who cannot get to the Talbot.

Chair of the Talbot Community Centre, cook and organiser of the initiative, Cllr Jane Gebbie said:

“With the valuable support of local businesses in place, we hope that this year will be even more successful, and will help vulnerable people to enjoy a merry Christmas.

"If anyone would like to help spread some much-needed Christmas cheer and support these efforts with donations of food and produce, it would all be gratefully received and put to very good use.”
