MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE LAST RONIN II: RE-EVOLUTION #1

The Last Ronin proved to be one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) biggest stories ever.

Released in October 2020, it ran for just five issues over two years, but fans were gripped.

Now the sequel has arrived. This mini series, which will also run for five issues, picks up 10 years after the devastating events of the last comic.

Disparate gangs are vying for control of New York City, and that chaos is taking its toll.

Casey Marie knows something must be done soon, or the city she loves will be lost forever.

Written by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II: Re-Evolution #1 is out now, priced £8.70. Look out for variant covers priced up to £60.

MADBALLS

VS. GARBAGE PAIL KIDS: HEAVYWEIGHTS OF GROSS

I have to confess that, as a kid, my friends and I loved the Garbage Pail Kids cards, even if the chewing gum was disgusting.

So the characters’ resurgence has hit me right in the nostalgia.

In this omnibus, publisher Dynamite has pitted the kids against another iconic 1980s ‘gross’ brand, Madballs.

Collecting together issues one to four of the original comic run, Madballs Vs. Garbage Pail Kids: Heavyweights of Gross is out now, priced £17.99.

TORPEDO: 1972 #1

Sticking with the 1980s, and Spanish comic Torpedo is returning to the shelves with a brand new story.

First published in 1981, Torpedo followed the adventures of heartless hitman Luca Torelli and his sidekick Rascal, in Depression era New York City.

This new tale sees Torelli brought out of retirement when a journalist starts digging into the family of a mob boss.

Written by Torpedo creator Enrique Sanchez Abuli, Torpedo: 1972 #1 is out now, priced £3.90.
