Duffy delighted by Clyde’s new boys

- By CHRIS JACK

JIm DUFFY admits the performances have been just as pleasing as the points for Clyde in the opening weeks of the Irn-Bru Third Division campaign.

The Bully Wee have taken six points from their first three fixtures, with wins over montrose and Stirling putting them in third place, above Rangers.

Duffy has transformed his Cumbernauld squad this summer and has been delighted with the early showings of his side as they prepare to face Annan at Broadwood this afternoon.

he said: “I think we have played pretty well in most of the games. managers look at performances and results and different aspects of the team.

“From that perspective, we have done well and there have been good periods in all the games we have played. I have been pretty pleased and we want to try and keep that momentum going.

“You have got to get a blend in the team. We had a lot of new players coming in and it can take a bit of time for them to gel, but I think the boys that have arrived have settled pretty well and it is just about getting the balance of the team.

“We have got a few new players in and that is always going to happen at our level because you know you will lose players in the summer. You are never sure how it will click into place.”

elsewhere, fifth placed Queen’s Park look to build on their superb midweek League Cup triumph over Dundee when they travel to Forthbank Stadium to face Stirling Albion.
