Disgraced Mohsni’s played his last game

- By NEIL CAMERON

DISGRACED Bilel Mohsni has played his last game for Rangers. The out-of-contract Tunisian will be booted out of Ibrox after sparking the post-match brawl that shamed Fir Park yesterday.

Motherwell striker Lee Erwin was left with a cut on his face after being kicked and punched by Mohsni who had refused to shake his opponent’s hand.

Interim Rangers boss Stuart McCall calld his player’s behaviour “unacceptable and disgraceful”.

The bust-up fury erupted when Erwin

retaliated and shoved Mohsni. That led to a dust-up involving several players and after the game, Mohsni, Erwin and Motherwell’s unused sub Fraser Kerr received red cards from referee Craig Thomson for their part in the trouble.

Mohsni was also later filmed arguing with Motherwell fans as he got on the Rangers team bus. There was also a suggestion that he and Erwin continued their feud in the bowels of the Fir Park main stand.

Reacting to the incident on Twitter after the game, Erwin posted: “What a day. Great result and performance from the boys. I thought the boxing was on last night but? #embarrassing.”

Motherwell will also find themselves in trouble and may possibly be fined after some of their supporters ran on the pitch and taunted the Rangers supporters.

Police horses arrived soon after and managed to calm down the situation.

And Rangers captain Lee McCulloch was hit in the face by someone in the home end holding a flag as he went to get the ball from the touchline.

Both the police and SFA are certain to investigate the incidents.

McCall said: “I know you’re not going to believe me but hand on heart, I’ve not seen it (the Mohsni punch). I was down the tunnel and then heard the roar so I ran back.

“I spoke to Craig Thomson and I believe there were three red cards given after the game – one to ourselves and two to Motherwell. If what you are telling me about the incident is true, then it’s obviously unacceptable and totally disgraceful.

“No-one can condone that sort of behaviour. Bilel’s contract is up, but that’s totally unacceptable. I don’t know if the club can take any action against him, but I don’t think there is any doubt he won’t be at the football club next season.

“You don’t want to see any trouble. I wasn’t aware of any until I heard the roar. Emotions were running high. It has been a disappointing day, but that obviously adds even more disappointment to it.”

Regarding the Mohsni-Erwin incident at the end of the game, Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough added: “Hopefully the stuff at the end won’t overshadow the win, because it was 10 seconds of madness that has no place in this sport whatsoever.

“The two teams went at it hammer and tongs, there were chances in both ends in both games. It was a pulsating game to watch for any neutral, but if the back pages are full of two or three people brawling then that’s the wrong message to send out for Scottish football.”

Some Rangers fans did manage to infiltrate the Motherwell end and, in the main stand, arguments took place as some left after the second goal.
