Rashford shines again for United
MARCUS Rashford achieved the nearimpossible atOld Trafford yesterday by uniting touchline adversaries Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger in appreciation of his debutdouble.
The 18-year-old built on his midweek brace againstFC Midtylland with the firsttwo goals as his side puta huge dent in the Gunners’ Premier League title aspirations with a 3-2 win.
For a clash with such gladiatorial history it ranks as another in Rashford’s sky-rocketing listof recent achievements.
Wenger admitted: “The player who surprised me talent-wise was Rashford because of the timing of his movementand his intelligence.
“His movementin the box was greatand he could be a very positive surprise for Manchester United on whatI’ve seen.”
Van Gaal paid tribute to Rashford, who lashed home United’s opener in the 29th minute then headed a superb second justtwo minutes later, as well as setting up the decisive third for Ander Herrera.
He said: “I think his performance was better than the firstmatch. Whathe showed in his second match is special.”
Wenger admitted the defeathad dealthis side a major blow in their fight for the title but maintained the Gunners are still very much in the running as they head into Wednesday’s game againstSwansea five points adriftof Leicester.
“We dropped three importantpoints today butwe have to show we are up for the fightand bounce back on Wednesday,” he added.
