Griffiths in vow to make amends

club’s chances of a fifth league crown in a row.

“Yeah you have to be strong,” said Deila. “We had our chances. On Friday the small mistakes that saw us lose points.

“I think we reacted and defended very well in the second half. We created chances so you can’t ask for much more than that. Maybe we should be a bit braver on the ball.

“I think we have very strong mental players. We are in front and that’s where we want to stay and keep on doing.”

Meanwhile, striker Leigh Griffiths is keen to banish his spot-kick blues by sinking Dundee on Wednesday night.

The Scotland internationalist netted a first-half penalty on Friday before seeing Northern Ireland stopper Michael McGovern thwart his second effort after the break.

It was a goal that would have given Celtic a 2-0 lead and almost certainly the three points, and Griffiths is keen to make amends.

He said: “We’re very disappointed. We had chances to kill the game off. They had one shot and one goal. It’s disappointing from our point of view.

“Ten v 11 is always going to be different, but we more than matched them with 10 men and with the chances we had – the penalty save, Gaz [Gary Mackay-Steven] and myself – we could have had the game beyond doubt.

“It’s annoying but we’ve got to accept that and take it forward. We have to concentrate on what we do and we’re going to be concentrating on Dundee on Wednesday.”
