Dodoo in the hunt for goals with fellow formerFoxWaggy

- By CHRIS JACK

JOE DODOO hopes he and Martyn Waghorn can hit the goal trail at Ibrox after the former Leicester team-mates were reunited in the Rangers forward line. made it so easy for me to come up to Rangers. I’m looking forward to playing with him all season.

“Martyn is off the mark for the season already and now I am off the mark already too. So we need to continue working hard for the team. The team comes first.”

Dodoo became the ninth signing of the summer for Warburton when he put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal last week. The England youth international made four appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s side last term and spent time on loan at League One Bury.

And he has no regrets about leaving Leicester just weeks after City wrote their name in the record books and became Premier League champions.

Dodoo said: “Was there a temptation to stay there given they have Champions League football? Yes of course there was.

“But I need to be playing first team football. To be fair, the manager and the staff here have persuaded me that here is where I need to be.

“Yes of course, I learned a lot from these guys (at Leicester). These players have ability and they work hard and they have a great bond.

“They are all such great friends and that’s what made it easy for them to achieve what they did.

“They fought for each other all season long. It was great to see how they acted about the place and to learn from them. “But I didn’t need to learn from anyone that hard work is essential if you want to succeed.

I have always known that. I didn’t need to be taught that.”
