Wilsonpledge after Gers Capital pains

- By CHRIS JACK

DANNY WILSON hopes he can help Rangers make amends for one of their worst showings of the Mark Warburton era when Hearts visit Ibrox this afternoon.

The defender was part of the Light Blues side that lost 2-0 at Tynecastle last week as the Jambos ran out comfortable winners thanks to a Robbie Muirhead brace.

Boss Warburton then rang the changes for the Premiership clash with Aberdeen seven days ago and was rewarded with a much improved showing as the Gers clinched a 2-1 win course of the 90 minutes over the last 18 months,” he told the Official Rangers Podcast.

“It was disappointing that night but that is gone. We need to show a lot more in the game coming up.

“We look forward to it because it gives us an opportunity to try and put it right. Too many things went wrong that night and it is one that we want to erase quickly.

“I was really disappointed not to play [against Aberdeen]. The boys did well though.

“They battled well. It wasn’t our best performance on the ball but sometimes you need to do things a bit differently in football to win a match and the boys did that so credit to them.

“It has been very frustrating [for me this season]. In the game against Hearts, it was a poor performance in general and the manager has made changes on the back of that and I was one of the ones to miss out so I was very disappointed on Saturday.

“I will try and work my way back in and hopefully stay in the side this time.” .
