Lennon’s swoop for ex-Jambo Gallacher

- By DAVID BARCLAY

HIBERNIAN have completed the signing of former Hearts keeper Scott Gallacher – but boss Neil Lennon is not done with his January transfer dealings.

Gallacher has clinched a deal until the end of the season days after leaving St Mirren.

The former Rangers youngster joined the Jambos in 2014 after leaving Ibrox but played just three times over a two-year Tynecastle stint.

He will provide cover for Ross Laidlaw after first-choice stopper Ofir Marciano was injured during last week’s William Hill Scottish Cup romp against Bonnyrigg Rose.

And Lennon – who has already signed former Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey – has not given up hope of making a couple more additions before Tuesday’s deadline.

He said: “With Scott coming in, we have someone who knows his role, who is familiar with the surroundings and is experienced.

“If we can add anyone else before the end of the month we will. We’re just looking in one or two specific areas and actively still working away in the background on that.”

The Leith men booked a fifth-round duel with city rivals Hearts with their 8-1 thrashing of junior outfit Bonnyrigg.

And Lennon is looking forward to his first taste of Edinburgh derby action.

He said: “I know the significance of the game and what it means to the supporters.

“If we are going to win the cup again, then we will have to beat whoever is put in front of us, so we will cross that bridge when we come to it.”
