Pride of the brides
THE Scottish Confetti Wedding Awards, the country’s biggest wedding industry awards, is in its second year and set to hit Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on January 29.
Around 80,000 votes have been received from brides and grooms keen to celebrate their favourite suppliers, which were whittled down to 155 finalists in the 21 categories.
The event, hosted by Capital FM’s Des Clarke, will see 21 trophies handed out in total.
Categories include ‘Wedding Dress Retailer of the Year’, ‘Ceremony Entertainer of the Year’, ‘Photographer of the Year’ and ‘Most Desirable Venue of the Year’ among many others.
The independent judges and mystery shoppers have been busy visiting the best of Scotland’s wedding businesses; cakes have been sampled, catering taste-tested and make up scrutinised in the search to find the very best of the best.
Warren Paul, CEO and Founder of The Confetti Wedding Awards, said: “The engagement and enthusiasm shown for our inaugural event was outstanding and so to see this grow in our second year is fantastic,” he said.
“We have more than tripled the amount of votes collected from the public and engaged more businesses across the industry than ever before.
“We thank everyone who has taken part this year. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our finalists and I am very much looking forward to celebrating their achievements on Sunday.” HONEYMOON DRAW Two lucky couples have been invited to attend the Gala Final where the winners will be announced for the Confetti 2017 Honeymoon draw. All who voted were entered in to a special draw in conjunction with Confetti 2017 Honeymoon Partner, Barrhead Travel and one lucky couple will be jetting off for seven nights of luxury at The Hard Rock Hotel, Riviera Maya in Mexico.
Not only will this be given away on Sunday but Confetti 2017 charity partner Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will be offering a two week holiday in Cyprus as part of their fundraising activities.
Over 500 people have booked to attend the Gala Final to enjoy a sumptuous three course meal, wine and eclectic entertainment at The Hilton in Glasgow.
The evening will see winners of the 21 Confetti 2017 Awards announced during a night of celebration for those so well versed in aiding the celebrations of others.
