know how he does it every y day. He’s the first out on n the training pitch every day, running about.

“He’s got some energy for his age. He’s still got the hunger and he has also really bought into the way the manager has us playing.

“He is really excited by where the club is going, like we all are. It’s a young, hungry squad which wants to achieve a lot of things.

“Kenny has almost got a second wind in his career from that. That’s what is driving him on.” my family. Hopefully everything will fall into place.”

Waghorn was once again overlooked for a starting spot for the Scottish Cup clash with Motherwell last weekend but he still played his part in a crucial Ibrox win.

The 27-year-old stepped off the bench and provided an assist for Kenny Miller to level the game before he completed his brace with a dramatic late winner.

It has been a frustrating campaign at times for Waghorn but the forward is determined to impress in the coming months.

He said: “Every player when they don’t play gets frustrated, it’s about how you channel it and put it to good use, whether that’s on the training field or coming off the bench.

“Any professional does get frustrated like myself, and it’s one of those things I need to learn to deal with and try and harness, and when I do get my chance, take it.

“Sometimes you can let your mind run away with it and it’s one of these things you need to just work on and try and keep as calm as you can, and when you do get a chance you need to be in the right frame of mind to go out there and do your job.

“I don’t expect to start any games, I maybe just think it’s probably been down to the injuries.

“I started well, picked up the hamstring and it’s probably just taken me a bit longer to get going again.

“I feel like once I get back in the team I can really put that to good use and help the boys.

“I’m frustrated that I’ve not had as many starts but that’s just the way football goes and the manager picks the team.”
