Toral: We need to be slick and quick

-

JON TORAL hopes Rangers can fly out of the traps at Fir Park when they return to Premiership action this afternoon.

Mark Warburton’s side face Motherwell for the second consecutive weekend aiming to follow up last Saturday’s Scottish Cup win with a muchneeded league victory.

The Light Blues left it late as Kenny Miller hit a brace to clinch a dramatic 2-1 triumph after Louis Moult had put the Steelmen ahead.

The cup clash gave Toral his first taste of Ibrox action after he put pen-to-paper on a loan switch from Arsenal until the end of the campaign.

And the Spaniard is determined to play his part in another successful afternoon at the office as Warburton’s side look to secure all three Premiership points.

“We have to up the tempo from the first minute and move the ball quicker and side to side to open them a bit,” he told the Official Rangers Podcast. “The last ball, the quality ball has to be better. We need to keep getting into those positions and it will happen.

“It was different to playing in Spain. Obviously in Spain everything is a little bit slower tempo than games in Britain.

“I am getting used to that again and getting match fit because I haven’t played much football this season. I need to get that fitness to be at the top of my game.

“I don’t like to talk about myself but I am an attacking midfielder, I like to create chances and get in the box myself to get a few goals.

“I am just going to try and help the team attacking wise, and help them defensively as well. It is a team game and we have to attack together and defend together.

“I think targets can sometimes put pressure on a player.

I am just going to try and help the team and if I get chances I know that I have to push myself to score them.”
