Sinclair: KT will be in high demand

- By ALISON MCCONNELL

SCOTT SINCLAIR believes Kieran Tierney will be chased by clubs throughout Europe if he maintains the level of performance he has shown for Celtic.

The teenager’s performance was hailed as “brilliant” by Brendan Rodgers after yesterday’s win over Hearts and Sinclair has been enthused about the maturity of the Scotland internationalist.

“He’s getting tons of experience playing every week and having that enjoyment of playing and getting forward to show his quality,” said Sinclair.

“Loads of clubs around Europe will be after him.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone down south about him, but he’s a guy who wants to learn and gives 100 per cent in training. That’s great to see.”

And Sinclair was keen to echo the sentiments of the Parkhead players by insisting that he hopes Craig Gordon will turn his back on a move to Chelsea.

Sinclair himself joined Chelsea after a season in Bristol’s first-team.

He also experienced the frustration of going to Manchester City from Swansea without really making an impact, so is well versed to offer both perspectives as Gordon weighs up a decision.

“He’s massive to us,” said the 27-year-old, who took his tally to 15 goals this season with a brace against Hearts. “I’m sure the manager won’t want to let him go. There’s a few days left so we’ll wait and see.

“He’s old enough now and he’s played in the Premier League. I don’t think anything will get to him.

“Everyone’s experience is different. I’ve been to Chelsea and Man City. I got to an age at Chelsea when I wanted to play and moved to Swansea.

“Then I moved to Man City and didn’t play as many games as I’d have wanted to do.

“Everyone is different and we all have choices. It’s Craig’s choice to make.”
