BUDDING photographers are to be given the chance to showcase their work in print and online with the new Evening Times camera club.

The club, open to amateur snappers from the West of Scotland, will highlight stunning photographs taken in and around Glasgow.

From landscapes to landmarks and people to pooches, we want to see the best images amateurs have captured from around the city, which show off just how special a place it is.

The club will be coordinated via our new Facebook group –The Evening Times Camera Club.

Anyone interested in joining can request to become a member online and then share tips and tricks with other members, organise outings and exhibitions.

Members will be invited to exclusive events and will get the chance to learn more about photography from some of Scotland’s bestknown professional photographers.

Graham Shields, Evening Times editor, said: “Nobody knows Glasgow better than we do at the Evening Times but we’re sure we can show off more of this great city through the wonderful images our readers send to us.

“We started the Evening Times Camera Club to encourage amateur photographers and camera club members from in and around Glasgow to show us what they love so much about the city. It may be they have captured a moody black and white shot of a rain-soaked Ashton Lane, or the sparkling lights of the city centre on a Saturday night.

“We know there are plenty of things which makes people who live in this city smile and we would be delighted to highlight these in the pages of the Evening Times and on our website.

“This is a great opportunity for readers to get involved in a unique experience, improve their skills and get to know others with the same passion. They will also get the chance to have their work published and seen by thousands of people who read the Evening Times online and in print every single day.”

Images posted on the page will also get the chance to be featured in galleries on the Evening Times website, visited by hundreds of thousands of people every month. The best images may be chosen for reader’s picture of the day in our newspaper.

Camera clubs across the west of Scotland are invited to join, as well as those who have an interest in photography as a hobby.

Visit Facebook.com and search for “The Evening Times Camera Club” to join.
