Top venues in line for awards
GLASGOW’S top hospitality venues have been shortlisted for an industry awards by the public.
More than 100 top restaurants, bars and music venues from across Scotland have been shortlisted for the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards and will go head to head to take home an award.
A whole host of Glasgow establishments have made the cut, from Bread Meats Bread burger bar, Kushion nightclub, the Shilling Brew- ing Co. and Brian Maule at Le Chardon d’Or.
Members of the public were invited to vote for their favourites, which will now be visited by secret judges.
Categories include Best Family Day and Best Newcomer and new addition Best Craft Beer Selection, sponsored by Blue Moon, which was hotly-contested reflecting the huge interest and investment in craft beer seen across Scotland in the last decade.
The sixth annual awards will take place at a Gala Final in Glasgow’s Merchant Square on May 7, and will include a full bill of Las Vegas-inspired performers in- cluding some top Glasgow talents: illusionist Chris de Rosa, Barbara Bryceland as Shirley Bassey, and Elvis act Johnny Lee Memphis.
The evening’s headline act will be British legend, and Las Vegas regular, Tony Christie, of Show Me the Way to Amarillo fame.
Awards CEO and founder Warren Pau said: “The Entertainment & Hospitality Awards started in 2012 when the industry was still largely suffering from the recession; we wanted to create something that the industry could feel renewed excitement for, could strive for and could take real pride in winning.
“Six years in and our winners have gone from strength to strength, we have more venues than ever looking to compete, and have incredible support from both the industry and Scottish voting public.”
The ceremony will be supporting their 2017 charity partner Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
