Home worker stole £14k

A WOMAN who worked at an elderly care home has been caught stealing thousands of pounds on the job.

The 42-year-old embezzled £14,743 while she worked at a care home in Glasgow over a two-and-a-half year period.

The private home houses 61 elderly residents and specialise­s in helping people with Alzheimers and dementia.

She admitted to stealing the cash in the course of her job.

Jayne Charlotte Gibson,42, embezzled £14,743 while she worked at Craigbank Care Home in Saracen over a twoand-a-half year period.

The private home run by Bupa, houses 61 elderly residents and specialise­s in helping people with Alzheimers and dementia.

Gibson, of Scotstounh­ill, ad- mitted to stealing the cash in the course of her job, pleading guilty to the charge at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.

While working as an administra­tor at the care home, Gibson pocketed thousands of pounds between January 1, 2012 and August 28, 2014.

She appeared before Sheriff Platt yesterday morning and her lawyer tendered the guilty plea on her behalf.

Sheriff Platt told the court hat Gibson would be sentenced next month.

The 42-year-old no longer works for the care home.
