COPS step up their hunt for a gunman who targeted a Glasgow florist in Shawlands last week by questioning more than 200 members of the public.
Ross Craig, 34, was getting into his car outside his home in Shawhill Road, when he saw a man standing at the bottom of the driveway.
As he approached him, the man shot him in the leg with a firearm.
The incident happened at around 8.10am last Thursday.
The victim then chased the suspect down Shawhill Road and turned right into Hector Road then across Pollokshaws Road and thereafter he turned left into St Ronan’s Drive where he got into the passenger seat of a dark-coloured car. The car then sped off onto Kenilworth Avenue.
Detectives investigating the shooting incident returned to the scene yesterday morning to carry out a stop and speak operation, exactly one week on from when happened.
They hope someone saw the suspect who is described as 5ft 7ins and was wearing dark -coloured clothing with a dark beanie hat.
More than 200 pedestrians and motorists were spoken to as part of this morning’s stop and speak operation which took place bet ween 7.45am and 8.30am.
Detective Inspector Colin Hailstone, from Cathcart Police Office. said: “This morning’s operation was very worthwhile and officers spoke to a wide range of members of the public including people heading to work, tradesmen and parents dropping their children off at school.
“Our dedicated inquiry team are continuing to examine CCTV footage as well as working to establish a motive and identify whoever committed this brazen and dangerous act.
“Police Scotland will not tolerate this type of mindless violence in any form, and although we believe this was a targeted attack, we do have additional police patrols in the area to provide reassurance. it
