SCALES OF JUSTICE Man asked police if they wanted to cause fight

-

A MAN ended up in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he asked police if they were looking to cause a fight.

The court heard that police were called out to Thornwood Road, Broomhill, at 4.40pm after being asked to attend the area.

After making inquiries, Scott Graham approached the police and started to act aggressively.

He then asked the officers: “Are you here to cause a fight?”

The 34-year-old then refused to calm down when asked to do so by the police at the scene. They then took him to a nearby police office where he called an officer a “smelly cow” and also told officer to “f*** off”.

He was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Graham admitted that on June 12, last year, at Thornwood Road he behaved in a threatening manner by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.

He also admitted that on the same day at Glasgow City Centre Police Office he struck a counter with his fists, shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner.

He also admitted that on March 4, on Saracen Street, he drove a car after drinking so much he had 82 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

Graham, of Thornwood Road, was put under supervision for a year and disqualified from driving for 18 months. The sentencing sheriff also ordered Graham to carry out a combined total of 300 hours of unpaid work.
