Glamorous ladies lunch raises £79k for charity

GLASGOW’S most glamorous ladies lunch raised a whopping £79,000 for charity.

Killer Heels & Cocktails – held at The Grand Central Hotel yesterday – raised the huge sum to further the fantastic work carried out by Action Medical Research.

This year, Rusk & Rusk were proud to sponsor the wonderful event, with company co-founder, Louise Rusk, chairing.

Over the past 14 years, the Killer Heels & Cocktails fundraiser has raised over £700,000 for Action Medical Research.

Louise said: “We have had a fantastic day, with superb auction prizes, lots of fun entertainm­ent and importantl­y, a significan­t amount of money raised for an incredible cause.

“It’s been a glamorous affair, and I’m humbled by everyone’s generosity and proud of my first event as chair.”

From live DJs to glamorous showgirls, crooners and show tune specialist­s; this year’s Killer Heels & Cocktails event was packed with vibrant, lively entertainm­ent.

Hosted by Heart FM’s Paul Harper, guests had antics in abundance with games and dancing being wholeheart­edly encouraged.

The Jersey Tones sang classic hits from the blockbuste­r musical Jersey Boys, whilst The Brothers of Swing provided a stylish throwback to the heyday of big band crooning.
