Bairns must act big boys at Sons

- By MEL CAMERON

FALKIRK striker Lee Miller says today’s trip to Dumbarton is ‘massive’ as the Bairns look to ease their relegation concerns.

Paul Hartley’s team, who occupy the play-off place at the bottom end of the Championship, will bid to close the eight-point gap on the eighth-placed Sons.

Former Dundee manager Hartley is seeking his first win at the ninth attempt after his players fought out a goalless draw at Livingston on Tuesday.

And experienced striker Miller admits Falkirk will do all they can to ignite their season this afternoon.

He said: “We’ve got a difficult match against Dumbarton now and we’ll look forward to it.

“It’s massive, every game is now – we’ve got to go with a fighting spirit and hopefully we can come out and play, create chances and score goals.

“The Livingston draw was an encouraging performance as it’s a tough venue to come too and they play it rough.”

Hartley, meanwhile, insists it is far too early to panic.

He said: “All the games are big but we’ve got 21 games left and that’s 63 points to play for. We’re in a position that we shouldn’t be in but we’re in it for a reason because we’ve not been quite at it this season.

“I think the Livingston game was a bit of a springboard for us, we’re off the back of some bad results.”
