Can you hang tough ... to win £2500?

-

A NEW fitness challenge is urging city residents to get a grip and improve their health.

Over the next fortnight people will be encouraged to see who can hang the longest from one of 14 bars which will be set up across the city with the winner receiving £2500.

The Glasgow Hang Challenge has the backing of Glasgow Commonwealth Games stars Colin Gregor and Charlene Joiner, who now run high intensity fitness classes in the West End.

They hope their challenge will continue the success of the Games in encouraging more people to get healthy.

Colin, the former Scotland sevens captain, said: “Often there is a barrier for people attending fitness classes or a new gym as it is a step into the unknown. Hopefully this challenge can take away the fear factor and get even more people down to their local studio or fitness centre to see what they have to offer.”

Well known fitness destinations such as CrossFit Glasgow, Glasgow Club Bellahouston and Pinkston Watersports will welcome competitors vy- ing to be the city’s best grip guru. The hang challenge is an initiative by Voomfit, an online platform for heath, fitness and wellbeing designed to bring community and convenience together for businesses and individuals.

A prize of £2500 will be presented to the person who hangs from the bar for the longest time.
