Klopp can’t wait to face off with Rodgers

-

JURGEN Klopp is relishing a head-to-head with his landlord at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The Liverpool manager takes charge of James Milner’s squad for A Match for Cancer which kicks off at 2pm and will see Celtic legend, Stiliyan Petrov and the Reds midfielder, captain sides in the charity match.

Klopp took over from Rodgers at Anfield, even renting the Northern Irishman’s house on Merseyside, and was looking forward to pitting his wits against him on his first visit to Glasgow.

In a message to the Celtic fans, he said: “I’m really excited and looking forward to it. It’ll be my first time in your wonderful, famous stadium and my first time in Glasgow in general. So it’s a big day for me and hopefully a very nice day for all of you.

“James Milner is a very demanding person, so he will probably tell me, ‘He plays there, he plays there etc.’ but be fun for sure.”

He added: “I think it’s the first time we’ve met since Brendan left Liverpool and I came here. We have a lot of things to talk about. The plumbing issues, the electricity, the pool.

“Brendan, I hope you’re in good shape and we can sort a few things.”

With the match set to be a fun-filled occasion, Jurgen Klopp was also quick to highlight the importance of the causes which will benefit from the funds raised.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing you all there, it will be great and it’s for something good, don’t forget that,” he said.
