Charity offers £10k reward to track down Gary’s killer

- BY STACEY MULLEN Crime Reporter

A REWARD of up to £10,000 has been put up by the charity Crimestoppers for information on the murder of popular Airdrie man Gary More.

The 32-year-old fitness instructor died after he was gunned down on his doorstep in Gartness Drive last month, prompting a police probe headed up by the Major investigation Team.

He was fatally shot by a gunman who fled in a white Skoda more than a month ago on September 6

The same model and colour of car was later found burnt out near Craigmaddie Road in North Glasgow.

Detectives previously revealed they believed the car, which was stolen from the Pollokshields area of Glasgow in August, had a number of occupants.

Crimestoppers charity is now offering the reward of up to £10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this attack.

Angela Parker, Scotland National Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “The thought of a drive by shooting is absolutely terrifying and my immediate thoughts are with Gary’s family.

“They are desperate for answers as to why someone would be so callous in taking him away from them. Gary had two children, and now they will have to grow up without their dad.

“Our charity takes information 100 per cent anonymously. Always. No-one will know you contacted us, and it could be your information that makes the difference. So please, contact us and be an ambassador for your community.”

The reward comes after The Evening Times exclusively revealed that the search by Police Scotland for those responsible for the murder has taken the investigation across the UK.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton, from the Major Investigations Team, also promised his team will leave ‘no stone unturned’ as the hunt for Gary’s killer continues.

He previously said: “These types of investigations take time and we have officers currently checking thousands of hours’ worth of CCTV footage that we believe may be able to help us. We also continue to follow up various

news@ eveningtimes. co.uk pieces of intelligence we have received from a number of sources. No stone will be left unturned.

“We are working with a number of partners, as well as police forces from across the UK, to follow up any information received – one small detail could prove pivotal.”

If you have any information on Gary’s murder, then please contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through the non-traceable Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk. org.
