Terror as car driven at salon
A CAR deliberately driven into an East End salon narrowly missed a terrified dog walker.
The woman was forced to dive out the way as the car rushed towards her.
Cops were called to Duke Street at around 6am on Friday but the vehicle had driven off.
The business is owned by former Apprentice star Natalie Hughes.
A TERRIFIED dog walker was almost mowed down by a motorist who deliberately drove a car at a salon in Glasgow’s East End.
Cops were called to the scene of the crash at the VIP salon on Duke Street, Dennistoun at around 6am yesterday – but the vehicle involved had made its getaway.
The salon targeted in the crash is owned by former Apprentice star Natalie Hughes.
Police say the car was deliberately driven at the salon before it was dumped nearby. The motive behind the deliberate crash is not clear.
A woman, was walking her dogs, had to move out the way as the car came towards her. The Evening Times understands that she has been left shaken by the incident but did not require any hospital treatment.
Natalie, 32, shared her sympathies for the dog walker on the social media website Facebook.
She said: “I’m glad the dog walker wasn’t hurt.
“Thank God no one was hurt.”
Reality TV star Natalie is originally from the city’s Calton area. She appeared on The Apprentice two years ago where she described herself as a ‘hustler’.
In her audition for the 12th series, she said: “My salon is called VIP, so I always say: ‘VIP – it’s the only way to be. Look VIP, act VIP and be VIP’.”
She, however, confessed to feeling out of her comfort zone while taking part in the show, in which candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar for their business plans.
She was fired after the second task, while Alana Spencer went on to win the series.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 6am on Friday, December 7, police were called after a car was deliberately driven at business premises in Duke Street, Glasgow, then drove off.
“The vehicle involved has since been traced by officers and enquiries are continuing.”
Detectives investigating the incident have sent forensic teams in to comb over the car in a bid to catch those responsible for the crash.
The force spokeswoman added: “Any witnesses, or anyone with information should contact Shettleston Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0506 of 7th December.”
