Wolf’s at the door... and he can’t wait to get in to Parkhead

- BY MARK WALKER

RB SALZBURG’S £20 million-rated wonderkid Hannes Wolf admits he can’t wait to sample the Parkhead atmosphere this week, but he insists Celtic would be crazy to think they will ease off in Glasgow.

The Austrian champions are already through with a game to spare and Celtic need just a point to qualify for the knockout round of the Europa League when the sides meet on Thursday.

Red Bull have won all five of their group games so far and are hell bent on making it six out of six in Glasgow.

But Brendan Rodgers would have been hugely encouraged by watching Salzburg struggle to rescue a point in their weekend 2-2 draw at Austrian Bundesliga bottom dogs Admira Wacker to maintain an impressive 28-game unbeaten run in all competitions this season.

They needed a late leveller by talented midfielder Wolf, who was linked last week with a big-money move to England, with Arsenal, Spurs and Everton circling the 19-year-old.

However, Wolf has joined up with manager Marco Rose to stress that there is no chance of Salzburg taking it easy in Glasgow.

He said: “If you know Red Bull Salzburg at all, then you know we will give 100 per cent in Glasgow. We will give everything.

“We want to to win every game we play. We are already through, but you have to believe me when I tell we are going all out for the win.

“We are in good shape as a team and there’s no question of us taking it easy or not trying as much just because we have already qualified. That’s not the way we work.”

The Austrian Under-21 winger insisted he was impressed with Celtic when the sides met at the Red Bull Arena in October.

And although he’s looking forward to sampling the famous Parkhead atmosphere, he’s certain his colleagues can easily deal with it.

He said: “Of course we know about Celtic Park, but remember we have played in some very big stadiums across Europe.

“Last season we reached the Europa League semi finals and played at Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Marseille, so we have a lot of experience of these type of great atmospheres.

“Celtic have not just one good player – they have 15 or 16 good players.

“So we know what to expect in Glasgow. There will be 60,000 fans and of course we know about the noise that will be generated.”
