The 28-year-old was attacked by four men in the Milton area as violence flared over the Easter weekend in a series of incidents. Three men were taken to hospital after a brawl broke out in the Ibrox area.

Police are also appealing for information after a 26-year-old man was bundled into a van and assaulted.

A GANG chased a man through gardens before stabbing him in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after the 28-year-old man was attacked in Egilsay Street, Milton, in the north of Glasgow, by four men who had jumped out of a white car shortly after 12.45am.

After attacking the man they got back in the car and fled along Eglisay Street towards Castlebay Street.

Police said neighbours rushed to the victim’s aid before alerting police and ambulance crews.

The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is still receiving treatment.

Medical staff described his condition as “serious but stable”.

Police are still working to find a motive for the attack and are carrying out door-todoor inquiries and studying CCTV footage of the area.

Officers appealed for witnesses to come forward, as well as drivers who may have dash-cam footage from around the time of the attack.

The attackers were all described as white, were believed to be aged between late 20s and early 40s and were wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Derrick Lunan said: “The injured man had been waiting for a lift in Mingulay Crescent at Egilsay Street, when a white car with four men inside approached him.

“The men, armed with weapons, got out of the car and chased him through gardens in Egilsay Street, before stabbing him. They then made off in the car along Eglisay Street towards Castlebay Street.

“We have yet to establish a motive for the assault or whether the man was the intended target or not. Either way, we still have to catch those responsible for this brutal attack.

“Officers have been in the area today doing house to house and checking CCTV, as well as speaking to neighbours. But I would still appeal to anyone who may have seen the car in the area before or after the attack or who may have any information that will assist our enquiry to contact us.

“We would also be keen to get any dash-cam footage from cars driving about the area.

“Any information can be passed to Maryhill CID via 101.”

Any callers are asked to quote reference number 0267 for April 21.

Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Meanwhile, four teenagers have been arrested following a mass disturbance at Kelvingrove Park in the city’s West End on Friday.

Two boys, both 16, were being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Govan, for cuts and concussion.

The four teenagers arrested were aged 14-17 and charged with public order offences.

The 17-year-old was also charged with assault.
