I THINK it’s criminal that this masterpiece has been allowed to get into its current state. There isn’t another city in Europe that would have permitted this to occur. Charles James Napier

Election issues: Action is needed to prevent drugs deaths

THERE’S plenty of help out there for people genuine in their efforts to kick their habit.

It’s a sad fact many don’t want to.

The Methadone programme, at great cost, was meant to wean them of hard drugs but is now used as an addition to the heroin or sold to other addicts to fund heroin.

Plenty of cash is thrown at people who abuse their own bodies and is now being used as political points scoring.

Tell me SNP, with your free ‘drug dens’ staffed by medics, just how do you get hardened drug addicts to quit?

Help is already there but you need to want help.

Andy Kerr

It is a waste of time and money. Only they can help themselves.

You don’t give someone with a drink problem more drink.

IT will become flats. Look at the playing fields on Queen Margaret Drive/Maryhill Road.

The council just ignores everybody and ploughs on regardless. It’s amusing to look at its literature where it proclaims it was “UK Council of the Year 2015”! How bad were the others? Potholes in potholes and never repaired. Paths deteriorating as soon as they are laid.

Who signs off these substandard works?
