Glasgow Metro plans move forward with airport to be first link

The Glasgow metro link that shall never be in Glasgow. Why not call it the Paisley metro link?

We all know or suspect that once this gets the green light, goes overbudget and then stops at Paisley, we shall never hear from it again. It shall be the usual scandal that happens when we try to improve infrastructure in Scotland with trams.

The only annoying thing is that it’s Glasgow’s money from the city deal! Only last year Susan Aitken wanted to waste it on a similar project until there was a fuss made. To me it seems like they think we are all daft.

You want Glaswegians to trust and support this project? Start building phase one in Glasgow City Centre and work towards the airport!

That doesn’t make sense, SM. It means when phase one is built you still can’t get a train to the airport. I don’t think you’ve thought that through.

The Tyne and Wear Metro or simply Metro is quick at bringing passengers in from Newcastle airport and has expanded over the past few decades to be a successful commuter system. My worry is the tram fiasco in Edinburgh, which is a single line from the airport meandering to the city centre and is of little use to locals.

Andrew Burns

I won’t be surprised at it only going to Paisley – and Paisley is nearer to the airport.

As for Glasgow, you’re having to get a taxi – which isn’t cheap, but Aitken wouldn’t know that as her fare is paid for.

If it doesn’t go from Glasgow it’s a waste of money.
