AWOMAN has said she was beaten up by a man while she was walking her dog at the Clyde Walkway in Glasgow. The victim claims that her puppy stole the attacker’s dog’s ball prompting the serious assault on Thursday morning.

In a post to warn others on Facebook, the woman claimed that she was repeatedly kicked on the head and face.

She then fell to the ground where it is claimed the man kicked her.

It is also claimed that the man threw the woman’s phone into the River Clyde.

The woman shared an image of her injuries following the serious assault which has since gone viral on Facebook, with thousands of shares and comments.

She said: “This man was extremely aggressive and violent all because my puppy stole his dog’s ball.

“He was about 5 ft 10 inches, wearing a beanie hat, a green running jacket and running tights.

“His dog was a young border collie. He also threw my phone into the Clyde when I tried to call for help.”

She added: “This is just to make people who use this walkway aware of this person and to be guarded.”

The Clyde Walkway is 40 miles long and runs between Partick in Glasgow and New Lanark in South Lanarkshire. The woman did not reveal the location of the assault on the path.

Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the assault.

The force, however, provided no further description of the suspect.

A SCOTTISH fugitive wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a

Dutch crime blogger outside a brothel in the Netherlands has been arrested at a hotel in Italy while posing as a Latvian national, police have confirmed.

It is claimed Christopher Hughes, from Glasgow, was seen with Martin Kok on the night he was shot near the Boccaccio Club in the town of Laren in December 2016 – just hours after a previous attempt on his life failed.

A European arrest warrant was issued for the 30-year-old and Police Scotland said they were liaising with their counterparts in the Netherlands over the search, which is being supported by Europol officers in The Hague.

Hughes, one of Scotland’s most wanted men, was also wanted in connection with a host of alleged organised crime offences at home in Scotland, but officers in Turin have now detained the fugitive after he was discovered posing under the name Aleksejs Rustanovs.

A report from the ANSA news agency claimed Hughes was captured in San Mauro Torinese “in the company of a woman”.

It noted he was also being sought by Scottish authorities.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed a 30-year-old had been arrested in connection with Kok’s death.
