First look at Glasgow’s new car-free George Square plans

Reducing road space yet again. Work is currently under way on Renfield St to widen pavements and narrow road space. This is all fine and well until a vehicle breaks down or someone illegally parks – the latter happens all the time. David Mackinnon

How many of these artist impression­s of George Square. will there be? Seems every couple of months the Glasgow Times are running the same story, with a different picture all about what “we” might do with George Square.

How much have the council spent on consultant­s etc?

That money could be spent fixing the roads, where holes are now too big to call pot holes – you could lose a small dog down some of them.

The story run about bins not being collected in five months ... how many binmen/women could have been hired instead of wasting money on vanity projects that will never get off the ground?

Well, that looks awful. The modern designs that were produced years ago were far superior.

Letters: It’s time we had vote on scrapping monarchy

It certainly should be finished and save the tax-paying public a lot of cash. Many millions wasted on this family could have been put into infrastruc­ture, the NHS and schools.

This mob can go and earn their own dosh off their own backs and live like we all do as normal people...
