Glasgow to phase out single use plastics
What about plastic bin bags? Gotta put the rubbish in something and if you are not in a back and front door house you firstly have to travel further carrying a bag of glass bottles to a bottle bank and if you also don’t have a bin two steps away in your garden you have to separate everything and do several more trips to a bin area which may be three flights of stairs down and even further to access the bin area.
I personally think if I’m paying around £1600 a year why am I not getting a rebate for doing the council’s job for them?!

So long as these proposals are put in a manifesto and put to the people to vote on (or reject) at the next council elections I am OK with this.
PS. I have just returned from visiting a relative in hospital. They no longer have jugs of water for the patients, but supply water in ... plastic bottles (from England by the way!).

Scotland’s last Auschwitz survivor: ‘Love has helped me live’
Love stories like this. Despite the horrendous treatment she received the main thing she takes from her life is the love she felt from her husband and the welcome she received in Scotland. So many died in those circumstances but it is heartwarming and inspirational to know that some emerged to create fantastic lives for themselves. She symbolises what life is all about.

Heartwarming. Near tears in my eyes reading this. What a humble woman, a true inspiration. How wonderful this city would be with thousands more like Judith.
