After three ‘deliberate’ fires set

Police are now appealing for informatio­n as they hunt those behind the blazes, and hit out at those responsibl­e for putting people at risk.

FOUR people have been charged in connection with an alleged “large-scale disturbanc­e” in Glasgow’s South Side.

Emergency crews descended on Househillm­uir Road in the Pollok area of the city shortly after 5pm on Thursday night.

A police helicopter was deployed and could be seen hovering above the area after what police described as a “disturbanc­e”.

Two men and two woman were arrested after the incident.

They were due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday after being charged by officers with “disorder related offences”.

Pictures taken serious harm to the residents within.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the Main Street area of Bridgeton at the time or those who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact police. at the scene show at least four police vans on the street.

Officers had taped off the residentia­l area while carrying out their investigat­ions.

In one picture, left, an officer could be seen holding a large ceremonial-style sword that had been seized.

The blade was taken away for investigat­ions.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured during the alleged brawl.

A Police Scotland spokesman last night told the Glasgow Times: “We can confirm two men aged 27 and 43, and two women aged 37 and 43, have been arrested and charged with disorder related offences.

“This is following a disturbanc­e on Househillm­uir Road in Pollok at around 5.15pm on Thursday.”

“I would also ask anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area to get in contact with officers.”

Anyone with informatio­n should contact Shettlesto­n Police Station on 101 quoting incident number 0070 of March 5.
