Three things we learned

- AIDAN SMITH

1

CELTIC NEED ODSONNE EDOUARD TO SPEARHEAD ATTACK

Neil Lennon will be hoping that Odsonne Edouard won’t be on the sidelines for too long. The Frenchman was missed as an attacking threat for

Celtic and they desperately need him back to keep their 10- in- a- row bid intact.

With Albian Ajeti ( inset) lacking fitness and Lennon clearly not taking to Patryk Klimala, the hosts were crying out for Edouard’s composure and stature in the final third.

Ryan Christie must be commended for his performance after being utilised in an unusual position, but the Hoops need their star man.

2

DEFENSIVE FRAILTIES LEAVE PARKHEAD SIDE OPEN ON COUNTER

Teams in the Scottish Premiership should take note of Ferencvaros’ performance at Parkhead. The Hungarian’s implemented a trademark counter attacking display against the Scottish Champions and they targeted defensive frailties.

The pace of Ferencvaros hurt Celtic and they failed to deal with runs in behind.

Instead of many teams sitting in and staying compact at Parkhead, they may well have better luck by taking a leaf out of the Hungarian’s book and going all out attack.

3

CELTIC MUST ADD DEFENSIVE COVER

Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien have been mainstays in the Celtic defence for some time now and last night’s performance showed it. The pair looked complacent and out of character.

Neil Lennon must add cover to provide competition at the back to ultimately improve performances.

Shane Duffy has been talked about and he could certainly be the man to shore up the Celtic backline.

The word is that the Parkhead side would have to splash £ 2m for his loan services, but if he can help eradicate defensive errors, then a decision to spend the cash is a no brainer.
