Investigation as man dies after car bursts into flames
A MAN has died after a car burst into flames in Thornliebank on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to Kilmuir Drive to reports of a car on fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire, but a man, aged 39, who was inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation has been launched into the blaze.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to a car on fire in the Kilmuir Drive area of Glasgow at around 11.10am on Saturday, April 17. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
“The 39-year-old man, who was within the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Police enquiries are continuing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
