Furuhashi frightens Ralston

THE sight of Kyogo Furuhashi may put the frighteners up defenders, but as Anthony Ralston knows all too well, he does not mind giving his team-mates a scare either.

Ralston was the victim of a Hallowe’en prank during the week as Furuhashi snuck up on him during a club video wearing a scary mask, and the defender says that his teammate’s infectious personality is ensuring he is having as big an impact off the field as he is on it after he hit another two goals against Dundee.

“He’s got that as well, he certainly got me good!” Ralston said. “Kyogo’s got his translator but his English is coming on well and he gets on great with the boys and he’s around us every day in training.

“We all make an effort too because of the language barrier. But his football does most of the talking anyway.

“It’s a great group of boys and we’ve come together well. All the new boys have settled well and we’re in a good place.”

Ralston bagged three assists himself, but while he was pleased to help out at one end, he was disappointed with the goals Celtic lost at the other.

“I am delighted to contribute to the team in a positive way,” he said. “My job’s to defend but if I can help the team in any way in an attacking sense then I’m happy to do so.

“It’s something I’ve been working on at the training ground, my final ball and when I’m in that area to take my time and pick someone out. So I’m happy I’ve been able to do that today.

“We’re aware of that and we’ve conceded two goals which we don’t want to be doing. As a team and as a defensive unit we’ll analyse that and we’ll get that right.”
