No shock over city’s ‘unhappy residents’
IT is not surprising to read about the survey regarding the unhappiest residents in Scottish cities (Glasgow Times, Friday). It seemed Glasgow returned the lowest score as being unhappy and the most unequal place to live.
I wonder what our leaders in the City Council will have to say about this survey.

IN response to Robert Boyle’s post on Friday.
I agree that we should ditch the cycle lanes as the cyclists use the pavements, anyway. However, restrict pedestrians to use the pavements in pedestrian lanes? Are you having a laugh? Pavements are for pedestrians. Donnie Gillies

FANTASTIC museum (Glasgow communities have a voice in ‘rebuilding’ city’s famous Burrell Collection, Saturday). Amazing legacy. Beautiful surroundings.
Cannot wait until it opens. James Hamilton

Readers had their say on cleaners and janitors in Glasgow school being poised to take strike action. Here’s a selection of comments ...
C’MON! Janitors and cleaning staff in schools have low-skilled, low-responsibility jobs. Just get on with it!

NO words if you believe janitors and cleaners are low skilled and low responsibility in schools.
Your reasoning would mean teachers and kids would be able to maintain the acceptable levels of hygiene/safety. That’s laughable.
Forget the coronavirus, there’s a long list of harmful/ deadly germs that are worse.
Do you know them? I bet janitors/cleaners know more than you without needing to get a smart device for a list.
Those people put themselves on the hazardous frontline for a pittance, always did.
Always had people sneering at their role too. The irony. Millions would have been sick/dead precorona every day if it weren’t for all these low-level, lowresponsibility workers. They are heroes. I’ve personally encountered many highly-educated people in the workplace who can’t even wash a floor properly.
If was up to those people, there would be thousands of workplace injuries daily. Might even poison people mixing the wrong cleaning chemicals. Again something else I’ve witnessed personally.
