Celtic ratings
JOE HART
Did not have much to do in the first half but kept busy in the second. Will be annoyed to have conceded at his near post but excellent stop from Scott Arfield late on.
ANTHONY RALSTON
Coped well enough. Kept Ryan Kent fairly tame in first half but endured a difficult second 45 with Rangers in the ascendancy. Goal came down his flank.
CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS
Strolled the first half with Fashion Sakala given little opportunity. Faced a bit of trouble as the pacy striker wrestled with him to good effect in the second.
CARL STARFELT
Coasted first half. Tried to play out from the back and drove into midfield a couple of times, but limited to a major defensive effort in second half.
GREG TAYLOR
What has come to be a standard performance, composed and assured. Solid in defence and burst forward plenty. Stood up to challenge in second half.
CALLUM McGREGOR (c)
So often the heartbeat of everything good at Celtic, he was not as involved. Usual full commitment and determination but struggled as side faded.
REO HATATE
A very quiet afternoon. Usually so influential on the ball and dictating attacking play, but unable to stamp his mark. Subbed after an hour.
MATT O’RILEY
Thrown into the line-up ahead of Tom Rogic and enjoyed a decent showing but without creating a huge amount. Anonymous in the second before substitution.
JOTA
One of the better performers. Full of purpose on the ball and had the beating of Borna Barisic. Nipped in front of the full-back to fire home opener in first half.
DAIZEN MAEDA
Ran himself into the ground. Showed his desire as he did as much running going backwards as he did in the final third. Did well to deliver for Jota’s opener.
KYOGO FURUHASHI
Did not do much wrong but although there was plenty of endeavour there was uncharacteristically little final product.
Tom Rogic (for Hatate, 61) Few nice touches, but could not force a winner.
Liel Abada (for Maeda, 78) Did not have enough time or possession to affect game.
