- BY REBECCA NEWLANDS

A TRAVEL agent is exploring the option of a third flight from Glasgow to Seville ahead of the Europa League final after the second has sold out.

Barrhead Travel announced two chartered flights from Glasgow to the Spanish city for Rangers fans to attend the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on May 18.

The company have revealed that for the first time ever, Seville was the number one selling destination last week.

Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, said: “Since Friday, our branches have reported back-to-back inquiries from Rangers fans who are eager to be in Seville for their team’s historic match in the Europa League Final.

“With limited options into Seville from Scotland and supply for the surrounding areas quickly being outstripped by demand, our team was able to quickly assemble the exclusive product.”

The initial flight sold out within hours of release on Friday, and the Glasgow-based travel group then secured a second flight which has now also sold out.

Ms Dobson added: “Our teams have worked tirelessly over the weekend to bring the charter service to fruition and will continue sourcing alternative options to meet the buoyant demand.”

As well direct flights to Seville, Barrhead Travel says that many customers have been booking package holidays to the surrounding areas.

Ms Dobson said: “Travel to the Algarve and Costa del Sol with durations of 4-7 nights have been snapped up by those fans who plan on making a holiday of it. There are still some feasible options left for departures from some English airports, but we expect availability will sell out.”
