Why are street lights on during the day in city?
ISCRATCH my head sometimes when I see street lamps on during the day yet electricity prices are going up and the council is trying to reduce CO2 emissions.
What is the council up to?

I ALWAYS thought that Scotland was a democratic country but after all the criticism that John Mason has received because of his defence of the anti-abortion vigils at Glasgow hospitals.
I think we may now live in a dictatorship.
Mr Mason is entitled to his opinion, like everybody else, so well done to Mr Mason and stick to your principles and morals.

OUR exclusive interview with Duncan Cameron, the managing director of First Bus in Scotland, sparked many comments. Here is a selection of them ...
HOW about you run more buses at busy times?
For example, before and after football matches and concerts etc?
Keeping to a timetable during those periods is just backwards. Barry McGloan

FIRST Bus is a shambles with loads of services still being cancelled/deleted.
How long before they return services to normal?

IF Duncan Cameron is so concerned about the growth of people using cars for personal use, maybe he should reflect on the 36-years of bus de-regulation that his company supports.
Why are so many First Bus services not operating late evening?
Late-night buses are far cheaper to operate as the running times are up to about 30% less.
He could also stop taking all the public subsidies – and face the wrath of their angry shareholders. But most importantly, how does he commute to work?
Look at all the employees’ cars in the First Bus depot – this notwithstanding First Bus employees and partners who have free travel. If Mr Cameron can’t get his free-travelling employees to use buses, how can they expect others to do so?
