Woman brutally stabbed and slashed disabled pal

-

AWOMAN brutally stabbed and slashed a disabled fr iend after wrongly believing he had harmed her mother. Suzanne Hill suddenly pounced on William Duncan, 54, at her flat in Knightswood, Glasgow, last August 18.

Prosecutor Angela Gray told how the pair were together there that morning when the 44- year- old became “aggressive”.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how Hill made false allegations about Mr Duncan involving her mum.

Ms Gray stated: “William Duncan was confused as to why she was saying that.”

Hill ordered him out before then producing a knife and stabbing him in the stomach.

The victim – who had one leg and used crutches – was not able to get out the front door.

Ms Gray stated: “Hill then slashed him on the left cheek causing a bleeding wound. She pushed him out of the door. He left alone leaving a trail of blood.”

Mr Duncan flagged down a passing driver for help. He ended up in hospital for treatment for his injuries which included a nasty cheek to lip wound leaving him scarred.

The court heard Mr Duncan – who has since passed away in unrelated circumstances – told police Hill had attacked him.

Hill yesterday pleaded guilty to assaulting the man to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.

It emerged she already had a number of convictions for violence.

Her KC said Hill had personal issues which affect how she behaves.

Tony Lenehan, defending, added: “The perception that [ Mr Duncan] had badly treated her mother was not, in fact, true. At the time, she perceived that to be true.”

Lord Beckett deferred sentencing for reports until December 9 in Edinburgh.

The judge told Hill: “I think the court needs to know a bit more of what has been going on in your life.

“I will adjourn the question of sentence and you will be continued to be remanded meantime.”
