- BY KIRSTY FEERICK

AN AMERICAN TikTok star has gone viral after revealing why he ‘ loves Glasgow’. Eric Boutin- Bloomerg, from Houston, Texas, spent two months travelling the UK and documented the entire journey on social media to his 11,000 followers.

The 29- year- old PHD student has now confirmed he believes the best place in Britain is Glasgow for its ‘ energy and people’.

The city earned the top spot for Eric, who also admitted he loved the food and can’t stop thinking about his meal at Mother India, which was “amazing”.

He shared a video this week explaining his love for Glasgow.

Eric said: “There is just something about Glasgow I can’t put my finger on it but there’s just a feeling and energy that I just love.

“It’s a complex place, it isn’t something you can figure out in a weekend or visit once and have your fill.

“I absolutely loved my time in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Inverness. I could live in all these places, they are all so great, but I think my favourite had to be Glasgow.

“I tried more restaurants, met more locals, and did more things so of course it has a very fond place in my heart.

“I do think it is a very special place. I mean people make Glasgow, if you know you know.

“I have never been embraced and treated so kindly as I was in Glasgow, there were so many things to like here.

“The street art is absolutely world class, the architecture is amazing, the museums are incredible, and the food is incredible.

“I still think about the meal I had at Mother India all the time, it is just amazing stuff.”

Eric previously shared the three things he will miss most about the city which included the people, food, and free museums.

The video gained 158.5k views with thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from his 11k followers.

Eric explained: “The first [ thing I will miss] is obvious and that is the people, they have been so welcoming to me in every way.

“They were so kind but also have a great sense of humour, they are some of the funniest people I have ever met in my life.

“If you come to Scotland make sure to explore the country as much as you can but make sure you meet some locals because they are great.

“The second thing I will miss the most is actually the food. I feel like food in this region gets a bad rap.

“When I told people I was going to Scotland they thought the food was not going to be good, but I found it to be actually incredible on multiple levels.

“The third thing I will miss is the free museums, I think it is such an important concept.

“It is really indicative of the society itself and certainly says a posiEric tive thing.”
