‘ Important milestone’ as heat pump store unveiled
AHEAT pump showroom has opened in Glasgow in a bid t o help mor e householders move to lowcarbon heating. Daikin has launched a new Sustainable Home Centre in partnership with family- owned company Richmonds Plumbing & Heating Merchants Ltd, which has 130 years of experience in plumbing and heating supplies.
The ‘ milestone’ opening was attended by local plumbing and heating installers and developers at 15 Carnoustie Place.
For those wishing to buy a heat pump, the centre will serve as a place to become familiar with the technology and seek expert advice and guidance.
Richmonds managing director Ross Jackson commented: “Opening our new Sustainable Home Centre is an important milestone for our business and the local community.
“It was great to see lots of friendly faces on the big day, that are joining us on our journey to help homes in Glasgow and beyond become more sustainable.
“More and more of our customers are expressing interest in renewable forms of home heating, like heat pumps.
“Giving them a walk- in location where they can get to grips with technology for themselves is a great way for us to help them find the perfect renewable heating solution for their home or their customers’ homes.

Iain Bevan, commercial manager of heating and renewables at Daikin UK, added: “Heat pumps have huge potential to reduce energy usage and bills in the home.
