Glasgow Ladies Lunch raises £ 40k for NSPCC

ACHARITY event in Glasgow raised more than £ 40k for the NSPCC. Attendees at The Fizz and Fabulous Ladies Lunch raised £ 40,002 for the children’s charity to help keep kids safe from abuse and neglect.

The money will fund the running of Childline in Scotland for a week, 24 hours a day for seven days.

The service is there to support any child under the age of 19, whatever their concern.

Held at the Radisson Blu Hotel earlier this month, the women were entertained by Britain’s Got Talent contestant Edward Reid, a Christmas market, the amazing Rock Choir, followed by games, a raffle, tombola, live and silent auctions and dancing.

Janette McAllister, chair of the committee, said: “It’s always a fabulous event but this year was even more special as it was our first lunch after the pandemic.

“It was so lovely to be back in a room having fun with everyone again, and even better that it was all for such a good cause.

“We’re thrilled to have smashed our target and I’d like to thank everyone who came along and donated so generously. Your contribution will help to make sure that children are kept safe from abuse and neglect and give young people in Scotland a better future.”

Caroline Renton, supporter fundraising manager for NSPCC Scotland, said: “We’d like to thank the wonderful Ladies Lunch committee members who generously give up their time to organise this event each year, and everyone who attends and donates so generously on the day.

“Their support means we can be there to help and support many more children who need us.”
