Kinky Boots coming to the King’s

-

A POPULAR musical has recently announced it will be partnering with a leading Scottish charity.

Theatre South Productions ( TSP), an amateur dramatics club based in Cambuslang, will be bringing a production of Kinky Boots, the critically acclaimed musical, to the King’s Theatre in Glasgow.

Running between May 21 and 25, TSP will be joining forces with LGBT Youth Scotland to raise funds for and celebrate LGBTQ+ young people and the wider community.

Promising an unforgettable blend of joy, glitter and acceptance, and including music from Cyndi Lauper, chair of TSP Nick Cohen said: “Since our founding 30 years ago, we’ve strived to create a welcoming environment for all ages, genders and backgrounds to come together.

“For all our performances, we want to give back to our community, which is why we have partnered with LGBT Youth Scotland – and it’s a perfect time with Pride month just a few days after our final show.

“It’s going to be a brilliant few nights of singing and dancing which we are sure will leave the audience with a big smile on their face right from the start to the end of the show. We can’t wait to bring Kinky Boots to life at the King’s Theatre and to help raise funds for an incredible charity.”

Following a triumphant debut at the King’s Theatre with Grease last year, the production company will return with director and celebrated drag queen Reba Martell, who will be leading the charge.

LGBT Youth Scotland supports young people in all aspects of their lives through the provision of youth work and support.

Doro Weber, partnerships and communications manager at LGBT Youth Scotland, said: “Teaming up with Theatre South Productions for Kinky Boots is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talents of LGBTQ+ young people and to celebrate our stories on stage.

“We’re proud to be part of this production that not only entertains but empowers and uplifts, reflecting the spirit of Pride Month.”
