Holt insists Livi won’t give up the fight
JASON HOLT understands Livingston’s perilous predicament but while there is still a survival possibility he will hold out hope.
A goalless home draw against Aberdeen last weekend closed the gap behind second- bottom Ross County to nine points with just six cinch Premiership p games remaining.
However, ahead d of the trip to play third- place Hearts at Tynecastle today, the 31- year- r- old midfielder spoke only in positive itive tone.
“We are hoping g the point against Aberdeen can prove to be a big one,” said the former Hearts player. yer.
“We know there e is a bit of distance between en us and Ross County but it is still achievable with the games we have ve got so we keep working ng towards that and try to turn n it around if we can. We are just trying to close the gap every game we play.
“We know with the situation we are in, it is going to be extremely difficult, looking at the game so far this season. “But I have a lot of belief in the squad, this is my fourth season here and that has been one of the biggest strengths in this s squad, the fight in the team and that t will continue. “We all know the situation we find ourselv ourselves in, the prospect of po potentially going down is not gre great, people lose jobs, we c certainly don’t want tha that to happen, so there is big pressure on us and e expectation to keep the club in the league. It is extremely difficult to get g that swing in points but w while it is mathematica mathematically possible then the fight con continues.”
