Getting away from it all helped Reds
JOSE Mourinho believes United’s change of preparations for their FA Cup semi-final against Spurs played a key role in their Wembley win.
The Reds recovered from conceding Dele Alli’s 11th-minute strike to win 2-1 through goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera.
Mourinho oversaw a drastic change in United’s training preparations in the build-up to the fixture.
The Reds flew to Bournemouth on Tuesday afternoon ahead of their Premier League fixture on Wednesday and journeyed to London after their 2-0 win at the Vitality Stadium. United trained at Fulham’s Craven Cottage, while Mourinho also held his pre-match press conference in the team’s hotel in Chelsea.
Mourinho also revealed he held individual conversations ahead of what was their biggest game of the campaign.
Mourinho said: “The fact we stayed together for five days was good, we stayed away from Manchester, away from home, we stayed in London, we stayed together, we spend our time, I had the chance to speak with some individually, everything was really good.”
