INSPIRING teachers will be celebrated at the Greater Manchester Schools Awards. Four of our award cate- gories highlight headteachers, teachers and support staff who go the extra mile.

The awards, now in their fourth year, are FREE to enter and open to all primary, secondary and independent schools across the region’s 10 boroughs.

The School Support Staff of the Year is for any member of non-teaching school staff who has played a vital role in the running of the school and the happiness and security of the children.

Last year Julie Noble at Longdendale High School took home the award.

The Student Teacher of the Year award is open to all student teachers on a placement in Greater Manchester schools as part of a school or university led teacher training course.

In one of our most popular categories, the Inspirational Teacher of the Year, we are looking for a teacher who has shown constant dedication, kindness and understanding.

And finally, we are on the hunt for entries for Headteacher of the Year.

This award is for outstanding Primary and Secondary school leaders, whose guidance and leadership help to create a dynamic learning environment, where the pupils are happy and encouraged to reach their potential.
