REUBEN’S RETREAT Thanks to generous hearts
EVERY day is special at Reuben’s Retreat but the last seven days have been the busiest, yet most beautiful, week of 2018.
It was so monumental I know I won’t be able to do it all justice in just one column, but let’s give it a go!
Last Thursday we reached over 900 people through presentations to the amazing Stockport Homes Group and at the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity’s Ball.
We’re so grateful for such opportunities.
On Friday we followed up pledges of support from Thursday, attended the Dying Matters event at RMCH to let families from across the north west know that we’re here to support them, and the small matter of preparing for Saturday/Sunday
On Saturday we held our fabulous REUoyal Wedding event with hundreds of beautifully turned-out guests celebrating the royal nuptials while dining on a sumptuous buffet.
Thank you to Williams Deli, I-catching Events and Jubilee Hall (Dukinfield) for all your support – we were honoured to carry out some beautiful work with one of our families at our Lodge in Glossop on Saturday morning.
We’re very grateful to Caroline O and Glossop Arts Project for making it so very special – Sunday was an exhausting but exhilarating day as we ● hosted our 6th Great Manchester run event with over 140 runners across the Junior, 10k and half marathon events.
Sincere thanks to the wonderful team at Virgin Money Lounge in Manchester who helped us to make it another Established 1973 COMPOSITE
They work so hard alongside our staff and volunteers to give our runners the best experience.
This year Reuben’s daddy, Mike, came out of his comfort zone to try his first half marathon, smashing through the finish line at 2.23 and gorgeous Isaac completed the Junior run for his little brother.
Thank you to all of our runners including the team from Greehalghs and friends – we were blessed with so many signs that Reuben is walking alongside us, approving of all we do in his name to help other families in need.
Being a tiny team of five means the last week has only been possible thanks to generous hearts including Jan M, Nigel M and our office manager Rach, her Mum Linda and twins Jake and Sophie, to name just a few.
Extra special mention to Ian G our volunteer photographer who covered three back-toback events this weekend. Telephone: 0161 339 3350 CALL ANYTIME! Fax: 0161 343 2720
