I WANT to start this week’s column with a huge thank you to everyone who supports Reuben’s Retreat.
As a homegrown charity born from love and loss, our local communities have been integral to our progression since August 2012.
With so many amazing causes out there, we are so thankful for each time you choose to support Reuben’s Retreat – whether that’s through shopping at www. easyfundraising.org or passing on a copy of our most recent magazine to someone who might not already know about us.
Every act of kindness takes us a step closer to reaching another child with an uncertain future (and their mums, dads, brothers and sisters) or helping us to reach the next milestone in the renovations to our retreat. Thank you so very much.
Summertime means lots of fabulous events and activities for us so here’s a snapshot of what’s coming up in the next month.
Tuesday, June 5 - Social Media Workshop:
There will be two half-day sessions available with social media expert Helen, from Ginger Juice, covering practical tips and tricks to get your social media working for your business. Places cost £32 per person. Call us on 01457 680023 for more information.
Saturday, June 23 - Scrufts:
Our second charity dog show will take place in Howard Park from 11am to 2pm. Once again, there will be various categories including Waggiest Tail and Best Puppy as well as a dog agility course. There will also be refreshments and a photographer.
Saturday, June 29 - Brass for Reuben:
Romiley and Marple Lions Club are proud to present this special charity concert featuring VariVocals, Romiley Primary School Band and Marple Brass at 7.30pm at Stockport College. For tickets and more information call Terry Harding on 0161 330 9494.
Thank you to the incredible team at Stockport Homes Group; NeoNatal Knitters; One Stop, Gamesley; Barbarella; The Boutique; Janet Bell Gallery; Mossley Cancer Committee; Hedley Foundation; Mr R Warrington and Grafton House.
We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who donates online via Virgin Giving, Just Giving or Local Giving, you are certainly not forgotten.
Finally, a huge thanks to Team Sky for their ‘give a day back.’ A group of 27 generous hearts spent the whole day clearing the grounds and generally tackling lots of jobs around the Retreat that our tiny team simply don’t have the time or knowledge to complete.
Please visit our social media channels to stay up-to-date.
