FA­THER Christ­mas will be mak­ing his reg­u­lar visit to Port­land Basin Mu­seum, Ash­ton, on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2.

He’ll be head­ing down the chim­ney and mak­ing him­self at home in the mu­seum’s par­lour, ready to hand out gifts.

Soak up the fes­tive at­mos­phere along the mu­seum’s old street and watch out for the cheeky Christ­mas elf.

Vis­i­tors to the event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, can have a go at mak­ing Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions with nat­u­ral ma­te­ri­als and join in with a free artist-led craft ac­tiv­ity, as well as be­ing able to get in­volved with Christ­mas trails and other mu­seum-based ac­tiv­i­ties.

To get you in the sea­sonal mood, Droyls­den Brass Band will be play­ing car­ols be­tween 1pm and 3pm, as well as YOU the­atre UK and Vo­ca­tones Singers chil­dren’s choirs (11am to 1pm).

It costs £4 to see Fa­ther Christ­mas, which in­cludes a gift. Tick­ets are avail­able from 10.30am on the day - on a first-come first­served ba­sis for timed slots be­tween 11am and 3pm.
