FATHER Christmas will be making his regular visit to Portland Basin Museum, Ashton, on Sunday, December 2.
He’ll be heading down the chimney and making himself at home in the museum’s parlour, ready to hand out gifts.
Soak up the festive atmosphere along the museum’s old street and watch out for the cheeky Christmas elf.
Visitors to the event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, can have a go at making Christmas decorations with natural materials and join in with a free artist-led craft activity, as well as being able to get involved with Christmas trails and other museum-based activities.
To get you in the seasonal mood, Droylsden Brass Band will be playing carols between 1pm and 3pm, as well as YOU theatre UK and Vocatones Singers children’s choirs (11am to 1pm).
It costs £4 to see Father Christmas, which includes a gift. Tickets are available from 10.30am on the day - on a first-come firstserved basis for timed slots between 11am and 3pm.
Entry to the museum and all the other activities are free. www.tameside. gov.uk/museums galleries/portland.
